I was watching Oprah one day whilst writing this book (during a coffe
break) and she said something like this; “All those struggles and all
that suffering that you went through is just wasted unless you share
it with others so that they can benefit from your experience and what
you have learned from it.” That made me realise that so much good can
come out of bad times if we share it with others. Especially if we
also share how we overcame our adversity. I really encourage you to
share your stories with us, no matter how insignificant you might
think it is, you never know when someone else’s life might be changed
as a result of what you have said or written.

I have already started on the long, and ever evolving road to self-
discovery
I too have had a near death experience and also suffered from an
extremely stressful illness that brought the reasons for my existence
into sharp focus, which was mirrored in the first chapter of the
book.
I really feel the need to re-connect with nature, it was a huge part
of my childhood, as with Cindy. I really feel it is of paramount
importance to me, at this point in time
It was (and still is sometimes) both a scary and enlightening time
discovering that I hadn’t been ‘living’, but only existing
With the support of very good friends and peers I have not been alone
in this journey, though for family members it has been something of a
shock, to the smooth running household machine. Mum learned and is
playing bass in a band, writing poetry and going back to school (Uni)
and the traditional ‘wife’ has become a bit of a ghost from the past.
It is truly a new direction for us all
